What It Takes to Be an ArcaBoard Racing Pilot

Resembling a futuristic low-level attack aircraft, the ArcaBoard 2 competing in the ArcaBoard World Championship (ABWC) will be piloted by elite pilot-athletes in an extremely demanding, high-intensity environment. Navigating at extreme speeds and low altitudes, pilots must process real-time telemetry from race control, marshals, and their pit stand, making instant tactical decisions to execute pit stops and overtake rivals, often in challenging weather conditions.

ABWC pilots must demonstrate physical and psychological performance comparable to tactical attack aircraft aviators. Despite the advanced technology embedded in the ArcaBoard 2, the championship remains fundamentally a human sporting competition, where individual skill, athleticism, and instinct determine the champion.

Pilots require a deep understanding of aerospace engineering paired with peak physical strength and endurance. Because the vehicle responds dynamically to shifts in the pilot’s center of gravity, physical conditioning directly dictates control. Mentally, they must maintain absolute composure under high G-forces, balancing split-second tactical maneuvers with a continuous stream of onboard telemetry.

Above all, it demands extraordinary courage, spatial awareness, and raw racing instinct. For those who master this domain, the title of World Champion in the Post-Asphalt Era guarantees global prestige and championship prize money.

Racing License

The licensing process is free of charge for the inaugural season. To compete in the ArcaBoard World Championship, candidate pilots must obtain the official ArcaBoard Racing License by completing an intensive series of theoretical and practical courses and exams.

Upon successfully earning their license, pilots join the official ABWC Driver Pool, from which registered teams select their primary and reserve pilots. Alternatively, teams may nominate their own candidate pilots, who must successfully pass the same licensing curriculum.

The comprehensive two-week licensing program covers ArcaBoard vehicle systems, flight telemetry, communication protocols, meteorology, racing tactics, emergency procedures, and pit stop maneuvers:

  • Theoretical Training: Pilots study vehicle dynamics, flight control architecture, weather impacts, pit-to-cockpit communication protocols, and official ABWC sporting regulations.

  • Practical Flight Training: Candidates translate theory into cockpit execution. Under instructor supervision, pilots master takeoff, precision landing, independent high-speed maneuvers, simulated motor and battery failure recovery, and pit stop protocols.

Courses are two weeks in duration. Course availability is limited, and candidates will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
