Technology and Industrial Design
Dumitru Popescu leads the design, manufacturing, and flight testing of ArcaSpace’s signature technology, from stratospheric solar balloons to the EcoRocket platforms and ground-effect vehicles. He operates on the core principle that visionary engineering must seamlessly combine functional efficiency with unforgettable industrial design aesthetics.

Historic Aerospace Projects
Stabilo: A suborbital stratospheric manned rocket system launched via massive solar balloons from altitudes up to 23,000 m.

Helen: Stratospheric launch platform created for the Google Lunar X Prize, achieving the first powered flight in the competition (2010), while launched from a helium balloon.
AirStrato: Solar-battery stratospheric flying robot designed for long-endurance global communication and research.

ArcaBoard & ArcaBoard 2: The world’s first commercially available hoverboard (demonstrated in 2015), evolving today into advanced ground-effect racing vehicles for the ArcaBoard World Championship (ABWC).
Ecological Propulsion (LAS & EcoRocket Series): Pioneering water-based propulsion technology to polluting rocket propellants, drastically reducing environmental impact while maximizing orbital launch cost.
