The competition brings ground-effect vehicle racing to the world stage for the first time, combining technological innovation with high-stakes sports entertainment.
Key highlights of ABWC Season 1:
Location & Infrastructure: All 12 rounds of the season will take place at the Cosmobaza Flight Testing and Development Center, utilizing a proprietary modular circuit system that reconfigures the track layout for each round.
Financial & Hardware Support for Teams: To remove economic barriers, organizers provide free team entry and a complete hardware package valued at €99,500 per team (including the ArcaBoard 2 race vehicle and an initial stock of spare parts and batteries).
Technical Format & Equipment: The vehicles are spec-class single-seaters equipped with 12 electric motors for primary lift (500mm fans for ground-effect hovering) and a secondary boost propulsion system featuring a 100mm axial compressor for overtaking maneuvers.
Competition Calendar: The season is divided into two segments (spring-summer and late summer-autumn), kicking off with the Genesis round (April 10-11) and concluding with the Apogee round (October 16-17).
Budget Caps: Teams are subject to a €200,000 expenditure cap per team for Season 1 to maintain financial sustainability and a level playing field among competitors.
The guidelines will be updated throughout this year and the next, based on the teams and partners imputs, leading up to the official publication of the Final Regulations in 2027.
