The second straightaway of the [01] GENESIS circuit is dedicated to the Italian-French mathematician, astronomer, and engineer Giovanni Domenico Cassini (1625–1712).

As the first director of the Paris Observatory, Cassini discovered four of Saturn's moons and the famous gap between its rings—known today as the "Cassini Division." Through his rigorous astronomical measurements, he made decisive contributions to determining the exact distance from Earth to the Sun and mapping the Solar System.

On this second straightaway of the [01] GENESIS circuit—a zone of acceleration where the track opens up to medium speeds—we honour the clarity and rigour of Cassini, who brought order, structure, and a new dimension to the observation of the Universe.
