The third straightaway of the [01] GENESIS circuit is dedicated to the American astronomer Clyde Tombaugh (1906–1997).

At just 24 years old, while working at the Lowell Observatory, Tombaugh made one of the most famous discoveries in the history of modern astronomy: the dwarf planet Pluto, expanding the known boundaries of the Solar System for the very first time. He went on to discover dozens of asteroids, star clusters, and comets, remaining a true symbol of perseverance and deep-space exploration.



On this third straightaway of the [01] GENESIS circuit, a zone of short acceleration between turns, we honor the tenacity and pioneering spirit of Clyde Tombaugh, the man who taught us that true exploration and discovery begins where the map ends.
