The fourth straightaway of the [01] GENESIS circuit is dedicated to the French astronomer Charles Messier (1730–1817).
Driven by his search for comets, Messier compiled the first systematic catalog of deep-sky objects (nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies), known today as the Messier Catalog (M1–M110).

His work laid the foundation for the modern observation of deep-sky non-stellar objects and helped generations of astronomers navigate the night sky with precision.

On this fourth straightaway of the [01] GENESIS circuit—a zone of acceleration and high speed—we honor the precision, order, and passion of Charles Messier, the man who mapped the distant cosmos.
